STOP and be still

So, I have with many others been struggling with life lately.  A lot.
The biggest lesson which I have learned is to STOP.  I have been so focused on things that were just dragging me down.  While some of them were good there was also some bad.
As I have been able to let a huge thing go (not with out much pain mind you), I am realizing and seeing the timing of the Lord is perfect.  He was just waiting for me.  Once I let that go I was able to see so many things and opportunities come together that possibly where not available to me before.
As I have started to slow down spiritually and more especially mentally and emotionally the Lord has made manifest His plans for me.  Major opportunities of service to those who need and want it.
I was looking to serve in a place that wasn't ready or even wanted it.  I was trying so hard to take care of someone who was not ready.  While that is neither bad or anyone's fault, what was bad was my overlooking those who needed my help.
Thank goodness Heavenly Father has everything in place and will provide opportunities when we are humbled and ready.
While dropping things has been extremely painful, I have begun to see the Lord's hand in everything.  There have been so many times this week I have heard people tell me, "now that you are ready.." or "the time has come"... etc it has been such a blessing in my life to STOP and see the Lord's hand in my life.
When we let go of what we want (either by the Lord's timing or preferably by humbling ourselves first) we WILL be better able to see the Lord's hand.
I learned in FHE this weekend that the way to repentance and even just change is ATTITUDE and ACTION.
My attitude was so focused somewhere else that I was missing the opportunities all around me.  Or perhaps it just wasn't time for certain things until now.
I feel very confident that the Lord knows my weaknesses and now's my strengths.  He know how to work around them to help me understand what I need to when I need them.
I know there are more lessons and even more trials that I can not even begin to understand the pain, but the one thing that will help me through is the Atonement.  Having confidence in myself that if I use the Atonement the Lord will use my strengths and weaknesses to become who I need to become.  It's about STOPPING and seeing God's power in everything.  It's about accepting who YOU are and allowing Heavenly Father to mold you.
