JURY SELECTION

So about a week ago I got yet another summons for a jury selection.  This is probably my third or fourth one since turning 18 I believe and being eligable to vote.
I have to be perfectly honest in saying that I was NOT happy.  I am still not thrilled in the fact that my whole morning was wasted.  Although I will admit it was slightly interesting to see how it all worked.  I will be 100% honest about that.
So.  I left my home around 7:15am.  A little early as my call was for 8:30am.  But I am one who like to be very early for events.  Even half hour early for very important things.
Anyway.  After driving around some, I finally found the place.  I got there around 8am.  Doors were still not open yet.  A few of the other jury people were there.  We waited outside.  They opened the doors and we went through security.  I guess they don't want anyone shooting the judge or anything.
So after security, it took a bit to figure out were i was going.  But I got there.  Doors locked.  Finally a Sherriff (the bateliff--sorry for spelling), opened the doors.  We went in.  She asked us names and if the mailing address they had was right.  She assigned us a place with numbers to sit down.  They were benches like in church.
After everyone was seated we watched a video on jury selection.  Then the judge came in.  I will say he was a cheery fella.
He had us all stand up and answer some questions about ourselves.  That part was pretty boring.  Oh before that we had to swear in as a group that we would be honest.
After introducing ourselves the attorneys introduced themselves.  The judge asked if we knew anyone in the jury selection or the attorney party.  I didn't.
Then he (the judge) had each person go into his "chambers" and he interviews them.  I don't know what he asked but that was VERY boring.  I was going stir crazy being trapped in there.  The Alan Osmond tried to make things light.  Yes Donny and Marie will be on dancing with the stars.
Anyway.  About two people from me the judge and attorneys came out and the judge dissmissed the rest of us.  That was it!!  Yay!!!  Until another letter comes I won't have to experience it again.
I still am not very happy about being forced into something even though yes I know it's my "civic duty."  But oh well.
I guess the founding fathers knew what they were doing.
