So I was reading a conference talk from last General Conference (October 2011) It's called A Time To Prepare by Eder Ian S. Ardern.
It talks about how now in this life is the time to be productive and do what is most important. What is most important you may ask?
According to Elder Ardern is it serving and making time for these.four catagories: The Lord, family, work and wholesome recreational activities.
The girl who did our lesson yesterday on this talk added physical health to Wholesome recreational.acctivities.
I have become so tired of the buissiness of the world, the negativity and the social computerized noses sticking in everyone's buisness.
I have tried to get rid of a lot of distractions and negativity in my life.It has been so nice to be able to slow down and learn what is more important.
As I have been working in the temple I have realized that is what I want my life to be like. Simple, pure and productive. The temple is so organized, clean and productive. People are where they are supposed to be and yes it gets a bit.busy but people aren't stressed or.overwhelmed.
In the talk it says:
"With the demands made of us we must learn to prioritize our goals or risk being blown into the wind of procrastination and being blown into one time wasting activity to another."
I challenge myself and all of you to work on one area in your life that can bring you closer to God. Take something that is not really important and fill it with something worthwhile and that will help you progress to Heavenly Father.
Need some ideas?
Turn off the radio for a day.
Turn of Facebook for a day.
Read a chapter in the standard works.
Say two minute longer prayer than normal.
Turn off the TV for a day.
Good luck. Let me know how it goes.
