Spiritual Thoughts

Here are a few thoughts as I have been reading some general conference talks. I have been thinking a lot about revelation and the Holy Ghost. Here are a few quotes from the talks. I will put the links on following the talks so if you would like to read or listen to them.
The first one is from a talk by Elder Richard G. Scott. It was the Saturday morning session.
"Personally, I rejoice in that reality becuase it creates a condition where we, of necessity, are more dependent upon the Spirit to guide us through the vicissitueds of life. Therefore, we are led to seek personal inspiration in life's important decisions."
"Father in HEaven knew that you would face challenges and be required to make some decisions that would be beyond your own ability to decide coreectly. In His plan of happiness, He included a provision for you to receive help with such chanllenges and decisions during your mortal life. That assistance will come to you htrough the Holy Ghost as spiritual guidance. It is a power, beyond your own capability, that a loving Heavenly Father wants you to use consitently for your peace and happiness."

I have been thinking a lot about what to do with my life. I don't know if I should go to school, or what I need to do with work. I have been thinking that I really need the spirit in my life right now. We all do. We all need the spirit to guide us and to lead us back to our Heavenly Father. The only way we receive the spirit's guidence is by living a good and clean life so we can have the Spirit with us. After all, the Spirit is a third member of the Godhead and what better guidence can we get?!
Ok, I guess I'm going to only go off of this talk becuase I've been studying it and it has been very helpful to me and I wanted to share it.
So sorry this is kind of going to be a long entry.
Another quote from Elder Scott:
"Yes, God answers prayer and gives us spiritual direction when we live obediently and exercise the required faith in Him."
I have been thinking about what kind of faith we need in Heavenly Father and why does that play such an important role in receiving revelation? I have come to the conclusion that prayer and study is up to us, but the answers are up to the Lord. He is in control. He sees the WHOLE picture. He knows what's best for us.
Elder Scott: "Impressions of the Spirit can come in response to urgent prayer or unsolicited when needed. Sometimes the Lord reveals truth to you when you are not actively seeking it..."
This was a very good talk and there is so much that I'm learning from it that I can't put down in this blog, for if you've gotten this far I'm impressed! :) But I just wanted to share a few of my thoughts.
(And I promise I will get some pictures up here as soon as I get some taken of something..)
