THE LIFE OF A RAFTER.......
My dad and I went on the Westwater boat trip this weekend. It's down by Moab area. It's more by a cityish called Cysco. We left early Friday morning traveled down. Launched about oh 1:30pm then traveled about 4 miles river travel then got to camp, set up and lounged around.
The next morning we got up, ate breakfast, packed the boats up and finished the river. We also stopped at what we call the "jumping rock." So, here's some pictures and I'll explain what's going on:This picture above is of me jumping off the rock the first time on this river. It was intimidating at first, but I just pretty much took a big jump off. I screamed, held my breath and ended in the water. It was pretty fun!

I just had to take a picture of this because this is part of the life of a boater: the loo, the toilet, the jon, the biffer. What ever you want to call it. This is where nature calls.

So, I have never slept on the raft before and I wanted to try it. Thanks to my father, this lovely picture of me where I slept. It was an interesting night. It was cool to be on the river under the great big sky and all the stars. The whole night I was worried I would either roll off or kick my sleeping bag and pillow into the river, but I didn't do either so hooray!

This is our "washing hands" system. You take the water from the yellow bucket with the red cup and wash your hands over the white bucket. Then we put the water from the white bucket into the river.
So, yeah. That's part of the river for ya. May be one of these days I'll get a water proof camera so I can get some pictures during the rapid. We'll see how that goes. :) Thanks for reading! Hope this gave you a good insight to what we do on the river.
